Learner Engagement
A lot of research has been done on student engagement and what it means. The Curriculum Centre has taken part of the research to emphasize how important it is for the learner to know the reason why he or she is doing the activities that are presented by the teacher.
By being involved in the process, the student will gradually gain an understanding of the learning cycle and this will help the student move from a person totally dependent on the teacher to a more independent learner who assumes more responsibility and control over his own learning. Consequently, each of our resources follows a particular format and uses the following identifiers:

- Part A - a pre-test,
- Part B - a self-learning activity,
- Part C - a practice session, -formative evaluations
- Part D - a post-test or summative evaluation
- Part E - an application of the content using Bloom's taxonomy
