Objective Based Resources

All of our mathematics worksheets and activities are objective based. To find a worksheet, activity or lesson plan that meets the instructional needs of a single student or group of students, a teacher only needs to identify the topic and select the teaching objective that best meets the need of a group of students or a single student.

The 5 Part Resource Package

Each teaching objective comes as a 5 part unit. The teacher can select and download the part or parts that best meet the need of a single student or a group of students.
Part A is a pre-test consisting of 10 quesstions
Part B is an independent learning exercise
Part C is an practice exercise consisting of 20 quesrions
Part D is a post-test to measure mastery of the objective
Part E is an exercise in which the student must apply the new learning to other subject areas or create a new outcome using Bloom`s higher thinking skills

Samples of each of the Five Part Resource is available by clicking on the underlined main topic above.

The Learning Continuum

There are approximately 515 objectives for the grade 5 mathematics program. Of course, some of the objectives overlap into other topics  and some seem almost inconsequential. They are, nevertheless, part of the incremental steps necessary in mastering all the skills and concepts required by the local school board and the Department of Education.

To assist teachers,  all the objectives for each of the main topics and sub-topics have been assembled for each grade level. Both the student and the teacher have a copy of the objectives. This acts like a road map for the student. By checking, thr student, the teacher and the parents can quickly ascertain what skills the students has mastered and what lies before him to accomplish.
